No comments · Posted by admin in Go Green
An eco friendly home is going to be one of the most major influences that you can make on the state of the environment. You know how severe global warming is getting and the fact that we are rapidly using up all of our natural resources. If you want to make your home eco friendly, you will need to first understand that every little action you take is going to help make a difference. When you start to turn all of these small changes into major ones, you are making a huge impact and you will be inspiring more people to make changes as well. This alone can help to change the way that the environment is being affected by our lifestyles.
One of the most simple solutions that you can turn to when trying to figure out how to make your home eco friendly will come from the appliances which we place into our homes. Appliances are starting to be developed to the point where they are made with a very high level of energy efficiency, using far less power than some of their counterparts. When looking for ways to become an eco friendly home, these energy efficient appliances will make a major impact because they will greatly reduce the amount of energy that you need every single time that you use that appliance.
When you combine these energy efficient appliances with the various green products that you can buy, you will be taking major steps toward making your home energy efficient. Everything from the light bulbs that you buy to the cleaning products that you purchase can all make a difference in the way that the environment is affected. Switching entirely to cloth napkins and dish towels can play a major difference because your trash output will suddenly be greatly reduced.
You will also be able to turn into an eco friendly home when you look at the way that you use transportation. Every time that you drive your car, you are introducing pollution into the air. Make all of your stops in one trip when you need to go buy items, as this can reduce the pollution you output. Using public transportation as often as you can will also help, as you will not be putting carbon monoxide into the air on your own. Every little step in this manner is going to play a major role and you need to consider how all of these choices are making a difference.
The rewards that come about from making your home eco friendly will be long lasting as well. An eco friendly home will help you to save money on a regular basis, as you are going to be spending less on electricity, disposable items, and gasoline. You should turn to an eco friendly home and lifestyle when you need to figure out the best ways that you can begin to save money. On top of making the world a better place, turning your home eco friendly should be considered an important step to saving as much money as possible.
Turn to Home Eco Friendly to learn how to develop an Eco friendly home. As you turn your Home eco friendly, you can learn why these actions are important for yourself and for the environment.

ClimateGate, Climate Change Turn-Around: The Global Warming
25 Comments · Posted by admin in Go Green
The more we learn about the the whole ‘climate change’ issue, the more we learn that it is highly likely that there has been a global warming hoax. We have heard from those who have a great deal to gain from turning the world ‘green’ and ‘eco-friendly, that there are reasons why we are having a cold winter this year, seeing as the weather has not cooperated with the global warming song and dance. The argument is that global warming is causing the current cooling trend. This argument comes after the previous argument that we really, really need to pay more for everything to be ‘green’ in order to save the world. Not to mention, the eco-friendly products are made, produced, owned or supported by supporters of politicians and political groups that support their causes. Each scratching each others backs. Nice arrangement if you are part of the circle of favors for money or visa versa. Not so nice if you are a consumer who has to pay more for something that is labeled ‘eco-friendly’. Then along came ‘ClimateGate’ and now it seems there is a trend towards a climate change turn-around by scientists who are exposing a hoax that has been perpetrated on the people of America and the West since the environmental movement started back in the 1960s. Dare we say article.nationalreview.com that the whole thing has been just one big lie? Exaggeration and alarmism have been a chronic weakness of environmentalism since it became an organized movement in the 1960s. Every ecological problem …

If youâre looking for a truly eco friendly product, consider a home water purifier and stop buying bottled. You may understand the environmental impact of all of those plastic bottles, but there are other issues to consider, as well.Â
Over the years, the plastic bottles have been the major point of criticism. To try and reduce that criticism, many companies have started making bottles that weigh less and are composed of less plastic. Thatâs a good starting point.
The bottles are recyclable, but most people donât recycle. So, regardless of how little they weigh or how little plastic is used to make the bottle, they are still a source of trash.Â
If you want one of the most eco friendly products, you should consider a home purifier, especially if you currently drink bottled beverages. Some of the better companies sell glass containers that are dishwasher safe and reusable. So, you can bottle your own at home.
More than 25% of all bottling manufacturers use municipal water supplies. That means they are taking your tap water and reselling it to you. Dasani, Aquafina, Pure-life and many others are simply purified tap-water. Yet, they are not as pure as what you could do at home.Â
Large scale purification methods are simply not as effective as what a person can do in their home. So, not only is a home purifier an eco friendly product, it actually provides a higher quality product than you could purchase in a store.Â
One other thing to consider is the amount of freshwater wasting by the bottled beverage industry. Our freshwater sources are not unlimited. As the population continues to grow and with global warming, scientists expect that freshwater shortages will be a big problem in our lifetime.Â
This is no longer an issue for future generations. It is something that we must consider, today. If you are like most people, you are already buying other eco friendly products. A home purifier is your next step.
Itâs time that everyone learned what the bottled water industry is doing to our planet. Share what you have read with your friends and just say ânoâ to bottled beverages. Youâll save money and youâll help save the planet. Â
An investment in a home purifier is an investment in an eco friendly product. For less than a dime per day, you and your family can have all you can drink, while creating less trash and taking nothing extra from our freshwater reserves.Â

In today’s world, where the impact of global warming and energy crisis is being discussed greatly, it is important for every individual to play a part in providing a solution to these imminent dangers. A simple step in this direction would be to design and build houses that are environment friendly. Some people are under the impression that it is a herculean task to design and build houses to accommodate nature. Well, those people cannot be farther from the truth.
The truth is that it is easier to design and build such houses are compared to the other traditional types of houses. With a few out-of-the-box ideas and innovative thinking it is possible to construct beautiful houses that are in harmony with nature and also energy efficient. A good eco friendly house is one that does not burden the earth and makes use of natural resources like the Sun and wind to generate heat and electrical energy that are needed to run household appliances. Let us see a few points that can guide us in that direction.
Keep it light
If you notice all the eco friendly houses that have been designed and built till date, all of them use materials that are light in weight. Wood is the most preferred material when it comes to building such houses. This is a material that offers flexibility and versatility that is needed when constructing houses that are environment friendly. There eco friendly houses that are build using enameled steel and corrugated metal too since these are light weight options.
Look out for barriers
If it is your aim to design and build your house in order to harness the potential of nature to generate energy for your house, then, ensure that there are no barriers to it. Trying to construct an eco friendly house when there are a lot of high rise buildings around the place, may be a wrong idea because you would not be able to tap into the complete potential of wind and Sunlight to produce energy. Also, ensure there are no barriers like transformers and power lines which may hamper the construction process. Consider the direction of the wind and the maximum exposure to the Sun when you design and build eco friendly houses.
Make provision for every generation and storage
The main purpose to design and build a house that is eco friendly is to harness the power of nature. Hence, you design should incorporate the ideas for good ventilation and penetration of Sun rays. The sunlight will illuminate the darkest part of the house too and curb energy consumption. By ensuring good ventilation you can minimize the use of fans and ACs. Also, opt for getting your house fitted with solar panels and photovoltaic cells which have the potential to convert the energy from the Sun into electrical energy which can be utilized to run the household equipments. The excess energy can be stored in the cells and utilized when needed.
These simple things, when kept in mind, will help you design and build an eco friendly house that you will cherish through your lifetime.

Eco-Friendly Wall Covering To Help The Environment
No comments · Posted by admin in Go Green
You cannot open a paper or magazine these days without seeing more alarming news on global warming and being reminded of our responsibility to do our bit to save the planet.
Many people are simply not bothering. They live in a throw- away society with no regard for their future of the future of their children. They discard plastic carrier bags willy-nilly, burn fuel instead of putting on a woolly jumper and dump rubbish in ditches instead of recycling.
The other half of society, the responsible, upstanding citizens who care about saving this planet for future generations are doing all they can to use sustainable resources and re-using what they have. From re-using and re-cycling to checking what they buy comes from managed sources, there are increasing numbers of people who are interested in this dilemma enough to take real action.
For those who can afford it, a fantastic way to help the planet and help ourselves at the same time is to build an eco-friendly house. Modern house builds are becoming more energy efficient thanks to new regulations but so much more is achievable through the private builder.
A drive through the countryside would often mean you could spot the occasional eco-friendly house. It would stand out due to its boring box shape and wall covering of grass. However, this is no longer the case, Environmentally friendly houses look more like architectural masterpieces that stand out more for their stunning beauty than their weirdness.
Energy consumption on these houses has now been lowered to a sixth of what is used on a standard house. Natural materials are used for construction and insulation and this is not only good for the environment but also healthier for the occupants, particularly those suffering from allergies.
The internal wall coverings are treated differently to your average house that has walls of various coloured emulsions. Natural materials are encouraged wherever possible to introduce colour, texture, warmth and interesting aesthetic qualities. This also applies to the external wall coverings.
Gone are the acres of grass that would insulate the eco-friendly house and in comes wall coverings that are not going to need re-doing every couple of years. Wood from sustainable sources is very often used internally and externally. It has natural insulation qualities that make it ideal for this type of project.
Take a look inside one of these homes and it will look like a state of the art family friendly place instead of the imagined hippy place full of others peoples discarded items just being re-used. The brightest materials are used to the ultimate purpose of not desecrating the environment to achieve a new home.
Wall coverings are of a type that are either natural or that are made using the latest technology to ensure non-fading, non-peeling, environmentally sound decoration. Nobody wants to scale the outside of one of these buildings on a regular basis to keep re-painting. These homes are made beautiful, with beautiful materials and should stay looking that way without silly amounts of maintenance.
Wall coverings of this type will not pollute the environment with harmful chemicals, they will not be constantly exposed to new layers or washed away into our delicate water system.
Property expert Catherine Harvey looks at the use of long-lasting wall coverings when building a new house.
